This role will provide overarching guidance and leadership on the technical and design aspects of BI solutions

They would provide the vision of the future BI state and define the architecture framework (architectural design principles, development guidelines). They are ensuring that all developments will then follow the design principles, guidelines and are compliant with the overall technical architecture. They ensure that BI platforms properly evolve to guarantee the operation, performance, and usability. They are responsible for identifying opportunities and define the projects for improving the systems. They will frequently be involved in consulting roles across multiple projects as well as projects within their core area of expertise, carrying the primary responsibility for being the foremost internal expert in their area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide the long term visions of the technical architecture of BI systems.

Provide the framework in order to develop and maintain the BI platform. This shall include but is not limited to, development guidelines, architecture design principles, code reviews, deployment procedures, efforts estimation etc.

Well versed in writing concise, high-quality technical documentation.

Provides technical design and development guidance to technical team.

Make decisions, and facilitate or drive the decisions of others, on business intelligence designs and plans in the context of the larger IT landscape. Explain, discuss, justify and document those decisions.

Assist in the training of the IT staff through the authoring of guidance, reference architectures and other collateral.

Manage the relationship with the other IT technical Teams, in particular the DBA and the infrastructure.

Manage the relationship with the tool suppliers, (e.g., Cognos, Informatica)

Manage relationship with managed services (outsourcing partners) for BI specifc deliverables.

Education & Special Trainings:

10-13 years of experience preferred in designing and developing data warehouses (ETL, databases, and front-end tools).

6+ years of experience in organizing, planning, executing small architectural projects.

Demonstrated strong leadership skills.

6+ year of experience in working/leading project involving other IT departments and business representatives.

Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.

Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
